The Bichon Frise originated around the Mediterranean and was a great favourite on the Continent during the period of the Renaissance. A number can be found in pictures by Goya.

They appeared only recently in the United Kingdom and these happy and lively little dogs have started to become very popular of late. They are very intelligent and make excellent companions.

They have a fine, silky coat with soft spiral curls which is pure white in colour. They are normally less than 11 ins (30 cm) in height.

We appreciate that this description is rather brief. Ideally we would like each breed description to be written by someone in the professional dog world that can breath life and love into a description, and show the good sides and the bad.
